Bobs Of The Blues

Bob Stroger, Bob Margolin, and Bob Corritore are masters of Chicago Blues. Onstage or recording together, they are Home and Family with the classic Blues that they live, and their own original songs. Music photographer Marilyn Stringer took this friendly photo and put it on the back cover of her book, Blues in the 21st Century. The soul in her photo and the music behind it inspired the Bobs of the Blues to deliberately work together.

Bob Stroger has played bass alongside many blues legends over the course of his extensive and impressive career including  Eddie King, Otis Rush, Jimmy Rogers, Eddie Taylor, Eddy Clearwater, Sunnyland Slim, Louisiana Red, Buster Benton, Homesick James, Mississippi Heat, Snooky Pryor, Odie Payne, Fred Below, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, and Billy Davenport. In 2011 and 2013, Stroger was granted a Blues Music Award as Best Blues Bassist.

Bob Margolin has been a bandleader, singing and playing guitar since 1980. Before that he spent seven years in Muddy Waters’ band, learning and earning respect. Bob has been around the block and around the world. In 2013, Bob was nominated for The Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Award for Traditional Male Blues Artist and won Blues Music Awards for guitar in 2008 and 2005.

Bob Corritore has produced and played on countless CDs and has been the center of the Phoenix Blues Scene for decades with his club, The Rhythm Room. For the past 20 years, Bob has been recognized as one of the finest harmonica players on the scene today and proves it on stages everywhere. In 2011, his CD Bob Corritore & Friends/Harmonica Blues won a Blues Music Award for Best Historical Blues Release.

Each of the Bobs are legends individually, and electrifying as a trio.
